A. not sure where you are but in australia there is.. however if its because of a promotion that requires more experience in the company or whatever its completely at the employers discretion to promote whoever it wants.. its only illegal if the allegations of age discrimination are the result of being mistreated in any way for the reasons of age alone... hope this helps
